I used to look at Roly-Pollies for hours when I was little. And now I have a reason to again! (To take pictures... of course :) They are so interesting! Especially when you roll them over and look at their legs. I think that they are also called "Pill Bugs" because they roll up into a ball like an armadillo, and look like a pill. And people used to take them like pills. They are a good source of protein. Yummy right?

But they are so cute I would only eat them if I was starving on a desert Island. And even so they can only live where it is really moist, so I wouldn't have to eat them. If I had to choose between a worm and a pill bug I would most defiantly eat the latter. They are actually a crustacean, and not an insect at all. Pill bugs are more related to shrimp and crawdads then your normal every day bug.

Spring Tidings

This one's a slow fellow, but he's my favorite.


I liked this bee. She stayed and washed herself like a cat, so I could get a good picture of her.





My Spinach is coming up and so are my beans! I've never grown either of them, it's going to be so interesting. I love to see things grow. There is something therapeutic about getting into the dirt, getting rid of the old and making way for the new.

The Hills Are Alive...

It's Spring! I love the smell of flowers and the feel of earth between my toes! All the flowers are coming out and the bees are busy with the things bees do! What a wonderful world God has given us. He is the master artist of the universe.


The bees were so fast that all I could get was their little bee-hinds. (get it?) :) But I did get two shots. Now that I don't have the 5-D camera any more, I have to make do with my little Canon Power Shot. I never did get the macro lens for the 5-D so I do actually like my camera better. The 5-D does get boring if you can't ever do close up shots. But thanks to my Uncle Mike I got to use it for a little while at least! And it was amazing. I could do photos like this one.

Colorado~

I suppose I should tell you about Colorado. It was a blast! The first two days of our trip was devoted solely to snowboarding. It was my first time to snowboard, but the boys had done it before. It was Tyler's, Adam's, and my first time to go to Colorado. It was extraordinarily fun. Every one did spend allot of time on their rear ends, (mostly Tyler because he was impatient.) but the soreness is only a distant memory. :)

New Baby!

We have a brand spank'n new addition to our church! Her name is Avia. (short A sound, vee-a) She is such a good baby and she's Charissa and Tommy's first child. They are very proud parents. She was born about 2 weeks ago but because we were gone to Colorado for a week, we hadn't seen her yet. She hasn't come to church yet. I'm sure that I will have pictures when she does. We went to go she her a few days ago and bring a meal. As R. C. Sproul jr. says,

"Bringing a casserole to them isn't out of the goodness of your heart, it's a ticket to see the baby!" (or something very similar to that :)

So true! We told that to the Bosworths and they said they didn't mind at all, just as long as the food's good. :)

Christ our Prince~

My girls Bible study group is going through a book that keeps on talking about Christ is to be your Prince. Some of the girls where confused because the first book we went through only talked about God as being our Father, and this book says we should think of him as our Prince. I don't really thing of Christ that way, but I do try to think of him as the only "guy" in my life right now. I don't need a boyfriend to distract me from the things that I need to be thinking about and working on. In other words, we shouldn't fill that void in our heart with boys. (I am talking to just girls right now) I think that it would be harder for girls that don't have fathers to stay away from the dating scene. I think that as girls we do need that male affirmation, and if we don't get it from out fathers or brothers, we will seek it elsewhere. That's where it gets dangerous.

I think that this Bible study book is trying to make a point that instead of boyfriends, we should look to Christ as the one who sustains us. He loved us first, and he made us the way we are, (the way we look) and he is the great artist of the universe. I like that because when I'm doing my hair or dressing I'm thinking about how God would like it. ( is it pretty and feminine like he made us to be, and is it modest.) That always makes me feel better when I'm down on the way I look. Someone in the study class said that people don't notice the way you look so much as they are focused in on themselves. (or something like that:) That also helps me when I'm feeling insecure. And when you say something stupid or do something wrong, other people don't remember it, but we dwell on it way to much. Just remember that Christ designed your looks the way he wanted them to be, and he loves you no mater what.

Snow Daze!

Wow! This is amazing! I can't believe that it was getting warm just last week! Now it's snowed! Here is a video that my brother, Adam put together of the fun that we had on the Lake Ray Roberts Dam on Friday. I do like warm weather better, but hey! Soon I'll be tired of it being so hot so I'm not complaining!

We went there with the Harris kids and their brother in law, Tommy Bosworth. His wife could not be there because she is expecting their first child any day now. So exiting!!! Its going to be a girl! We had a baby shower for her last month. It was grand! And now for the video.

My personal favorite part is at 4:00. I'm racing Shaffer and he does a face plant at the beginning of it. I laughed at for so long! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
