A Test!

I just finished a history test that was supposed to be sent in to my online school about two months ago. I thought that I had sent it but my teacher didn't have it one my first semester grade. I hope I did well! I had to go back and study all that material to make sure that I still remembered it. Now I'm behind in school.

Man! I really thought I did it!

Oh well,

My painting! (I think)

This is of the San Antonio River-Walk. I'm sending it to the Orozos in France. They used to live there for a while. I'll send a scan, not the original. :) I like it too much! (even though I do love the Orozco family) The trees are really detailed, but you can't see it here. :( Since my camera is lost there isn't a camera in the whole house!

This is an Oil pastel painting. Or drawing. I can't decide. My Art teacher, Mr. Normile, says that i can call it a painting. Any way, It took me about 5 hours to complete this. It's the first one I have done in this particular medium. i didn't like it very much, but I might do another one sometime.

I'm so exited!!! I get to start Oil Paint! I picked a picture to paint this week and sketched it out. It is a silhouette of a hunter with a gun over his shoulder looking down at his dog who is looking up at him. It's really neat looking. And the sky is orange behind him with clouds and whatnot. I might do a little gold and pink too. Its all in the painters hand. :)

I took this picture on the web cam, Tyler helped me. He was messing around with it and he had it in his hand, so I was taking crazy pictures of him. I thought it was funny because he is 20 years old and had never seen the back of his head. LOL! I'm a girl so its important to have a 360 look at your hair before you go out of the house. I have a little mirror that I use with my big mirror in my bathroom. But with Guys it's different. They look the same all the time. :) He was surprised at how his head looked! He said it looked strange. *sigh* Boys.

Performance!

Tyler, Savannah and I Performed a song at our Church Music night. It wasn't very big, but it was fun to do it. We played "The Fox." I love that song. Tyler played the guitar and sang, Savannah played the Mandolin and I sang back-up. I thought it sounded pretty good. Mrs. Webster even asked for another song! But we didn't have anything prepared. Silly us. Me and Tyler are hoping to get something more together. Another Country song. My Friend Savannah doesn't like Country music so I don't know if she would like to do that. She came to Church with pink hair on Saturday! Haha. I liked it. It wasn't permanent though. Even if I liked it I don't think that I would like it on her long term. I wonder if she even looks at my blog. Savannah? Are you there? If so, I just want to tell you "DON'T EVER PERMANENTLY DYE YOUR HAIR!!!!!!" lol. Unless it turns a strange color from old age.

Oh, Yeah! Mom just handed me a letter from Christa Blair. Just a sec...

The Blairs are doing good, busy as always. Christa is an amazing seamstress and so is Aria. Christa just finished altering a wedding dress! Both the girls are working on spring skirts. I can't wait to see them! Love you guys if your reading this!

If I possibly can, I will post a video of our performance. (it has to be uploaded to YouTube first)

Love you guys!

The Womans Retreat

It was just for the afternoon but it was fun all the same. We went through some material for Loving Well and had breakfast and lunch. So I guess it was more than just an afternoon. :) Here is a picture of some of the girls that were there. There was allot more than this, and all the mothers came too.

From left to right:
Rebecka Jester, Mickenna Allen, Sarah Johnson, Lib Harris, and me!

This was a while ago, my hair was shorter, it was longer, and now I've cut it again!

Update

The banana bread was good! I've been eating it for snacks and everyone else liked it. I think the Fiber Plus cereal could have been crushed up more though.

It's Raining, It's pouring...

I love rain! i wish you could see me now. I'm drenched! I've been walking outside barefoot (the only way to go) since it started. Splashing in puddles and whatnot. I'm also making a big batch of Banana Bread for my neighbours and family.

We didn't have any bran flakes that you're supposed to use, so I used my moms Fiber Plus cereal. I'm wondering what that will look and taste like... Mmmm. I'll get back to you on that one. But anyways, I always make something on rainy days. I don't know why, I guess it just makes me happier.

I LOVE RAINY DAYS!!! We have gone a long time without rain. Praise the LORD! All the plants and trees are going to be so happy when the sun comes out. Everything looks so peaceful. I wish I could take a picture, but I still haven't found my camera. (its been 2 weeks) Please pray that I find it.

Blessings,
Amy

April 2nd

I love playing tricks on people! You can ask anyone that I know. But, sadly, I have never gotten anyone on April 1st. :( But I saw a good prank yesterday.

Mom and I went over to one of her friend's house to help her with the preparation for her daughters wedding. There were allot of ladies there, I was the youngest, and the tallest. I was like the Amazon woman! No one even came up to my shoulder! It was funny. The ladies there were my moms prayer group that always get together when one of the kids get married. So we had three generations working on the food, set up, and arrangement of everything on the tables. There were the mothers, me and the girl getting married, and a grandmother. It was fun. Sherry Lee is a practical joker like me, except she is in her late 50's. She had one of her friends drop buy and give her a face tattoo. It looked real. I wish I could have gotten a picture of it. It's one of those kinds that goes around the ankle. Another lady helped her with telling every one and leading them to believe that it was real. Cony has about 6 tattoo's so when someone asked why it was shiny, she said that it was the ointment that was supposed to be on it. (She is also in her late 50's) It was a great prank. There were only four who where let in on it and that included me. :) Sherry Lee's mother was trying to stay calm but you could tell that she was ANGRY. Poor dear. She said that she was very surprised that Sherry would do such a foolish thing so close to her daughters wedding. Then finally she said that it was fake. And her mom said "It had better be!" It was great. All those ladies are so fun.

I had so many creative ideas! I had to deal with shortage of supplies (chocolate) and figure out what to make with what we had. the idea was to have those big pretzel sticks dipped in white chocolate and yellow sprinkles. We couldn't go to the store and we where running out of sprinkles AND chocolate. But we had tons of pretzels left. So I said that we could do with out sprinkles and drizzle the chocolate on instead of dipping. Well that created a mess and the chocolate was clumping off the spoon and not drizzling. So I said that we needed to make a piping bag. I was going to make one out of a Ziploc bag but I found that the chocolate would probably melt it because it was hot. So Sherry Lee made one out of parchment paper (which is what your supposed to do anyway) but she cut the end off to big. The chocolate was pouring out instead of me squeezing what I wanted to come out. That was a mess. At the end she made another one and didn't cut of the end at all. That was great. It worked perfect. It looked dainty and I did swirls and when I was done it looked professional! But, alas the ones that looked professional where the last 12 or so. I actually did about 100. Oh well. The girl who's wedding we where getting ready for was the most relaxed bride I have ever seen. And I have seen quite a few. I love helping with weddings. I've helped with, mmmmm, lets see. 6. Most were my relatives tho. I guess I'll have lots of practice when it's my time. :)

Mom said that the brides family does the wedding, the Groom's does the flowers. So I get to do my brothers weddings! And hopefully my sister in law will let me help with something. I've always wondered if I'll be the first to get married. I doubt it. I'm the youngest.

Here is a picture that came close to what we where doing. the white chocolate was heavyer and there was no milk chocolate underneath.
