Don Lockwood:
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo...
I'm singing in the rain
Just singing in the rain
What a glorious feelin'
I'm happy again
I'm laughing at clouds
So dark up above
The sun's in my heart
And I'm ready for love
Let the stormy clouds chase
Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain
I've a smile on my face
I walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Just singin',
Singin' in the rain
Dancin' in the rain
Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah
Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah
I'm happy again!
I'm singin' and dancin' in the rain!
I'm dancin' and singin' in the rain...

A Girls Influence On The World
A Source of Admiration, 1904
Seasons of a Heart is a wonderful blog! I was just reading it and I found a real gem! As I was reading this blog post (http://silverbeamdreams.blogspot.com/2007/11/girls-and-thier-influence.html) I realized the influences that we have on the guys around us.
Here is part of the blog that I was reading.
"if a girl objects to the loud obnoxious music a boy is playing, if he has any politeness in him he will turn it down or off. Only if he is used to the girl's sweetness and innocence in conduct towards him, will he have the respect towards her to change his behaviour."
It hit me when I read that, that we do have a very good, or bad influence over the guys that we come in contact with.
Jessica had a very good point. If a girl is around boys who swear, or talk about things that the girl disapproves of, the boys will generally clean up their act when she is around, if she shows disapproval.
Girls need to realize, that by conforming to the ugly things in this world, you are actually making things worse.

My Mannequin American
Mannequin Americans should not be judged, but understood as the rest of the people here in the United States. Just because they can't move on their own, or sometimes have no arms and legs doesn't mean that we shouldn't treat them with the utmost respect and courtesy...
OK, that was not a real post. That was just to catch your eye so that you would read this whole thing. Studies show that 69% of people never get to the end of a blog post because they are bored. Again, that percentage is not true. :D Hehe.
All of this to say, I got a rather interesting project the other day.
I volunteer at the Twice as Nice resale shop that operates to raise money that goes to the Crisis Pregnancy Recourse Center. (which is now the Woman to Woman Pregnancy Recourse Center, because it is no longer a Crisis to have a teenage pregnancy) I was working there rearranging the store and there was an ugly mannequin lady dressed and propped up on top of the dress rack. I was talking to Rita (don't know her last name) and she said that if someone could take her home and repaint her, that it would improve the stores quality so much. I talked to another lady and she said that they would always try to hide her face with sunglasses and a scarf. lol. So, of course, I volunteered to take her home and give her a make over! What teenage girl would pass up on an opportunity like this?
This is before she got her makeover.
And During...(her hair cut)I put her hair on my soccer ball, and I put that on my cosmetics kit. (its stupid but hey it worked)
And this is how much I cut off.
And these are the after photos!
Her wig was not real hair, so it would not let me style it at all. But I had so much fun doing it! I asked mom if it would be alright if I cut the hair because it was so terrible. She said that it was my decision... so I cut it off :)
When I took it back to the resale shop the ladies went gaga over it. :) Made me feel like I did a good job. And now I have two heads that they gave me to fix up... More on that latter.

Oh yeah...
I forget to tell you what kind of camera that I have. Its a Canon EOS 5D. It has 12.8 mega pixels, and yes, I do know what that means. :) My Uncle Mike also gave me an awesome backpack to carry the stuff in, and two extra lenses. On is the Telephoto lens, and the other is the Fish eye lens. Here's an example.
And here is a trick photo that I took. Tyler is in the foreground, and Adam is the tiny elf. (that's about to get flicked)

Uncle Mike is Awsome
I can't believe that my Uncle let me borrow his camera for the summer!!! Here are some pictures that I have taken with is since I got back from the Reunion, and some while I was there.
This is sixteen-year-old me... a self portrait if you can't tell.
My gorgeous cat, "Kitten." His real name is Hammy but no one likes it and I've always called him Kitten, and it just caught one.(my older brother named him hammy)
Fecita eating watermelon.
Maddie being really cute and really messy. (she ate quite a few pieces)
Fe.
An interesting garden ornament.
Me sitting with Cally Omally, my cousins dog. She broke both of her front legs jumping down from something. Micheal (my cousin) couldn't take her to a vet because it was going to be several thousand dollars. My Grandpa is a retired veterinarian so he went and bought 25 dollars worth of material and fixed her himself. THAT'S SO AWESOME!!!
They are so cute! (and tasty) There were 5 squirrels in all, it was so hot, they didn't even try to run away from us. Tyler took some of these.

Here at the Family Reunion!
I am in Winnsboro Texas, (way east) and we are staying at the Hubble House! It is so cool! I love antique things and this place is full of them!
Have you ever heard of Ima Hog? Her grandparents used to own this house and she spent allot of her child hood here. Her father was a Governor of Texas and his name was Jim Hogg. Ima had two brothers, but since they did not have such unusual names, they are not as famous. Contrary to urban legend, there was not a Youra Hogg in the family.
This is Jim Hogg, Ima's Father.
Here is a picture of her, and as you can see she did not look remotely like a pig.
The Hubbell house had had several name through the years, and has been converted to a bed and breakfast. George Bush stayed here when he was still Governor of Texas. The Hubbell house was built in... I can't really remember, but it's really old. Here is an exerp from the website. I encourage you to visit it and read up on the entire history.
"The property upon which Thee Hubbell House Estate is located was once part of a land grant of several thousand acres which was made in 1835 by General Sam Houston, commander in Chief of the Territory of Texas. By 1871, General Robert E. Lee’s cousin, B.W. Lee, bought fifty acres of this land for $500 in gold. From the era of 1875, there presently exists a historical hay barn that was later turned into The Carriage House for servant’s quarters and for horses and carriages.
In 1888, J.M. Lankford, an early Winnsboro merchant, built a story and a half mansion on a two acre plot. In 1906, Colonel J.A. Stinson purchased the estate and reconstructed the home using a Georgian Colonial style.
He came to Texas from the State of Georgia during the latter part of the civil war after he had lost his Georgian plantation by fire. He bought a 3,000-acre working plantation that had a sawmill and gristmill. This acreage is located just South of Winnsboro where he built a Prairie Plantation home. That home has been preserved and is now on the grounds of the Hogg State Shrine near Winnsboro.
Colonel Stinson’s oldest daughter, Sally, married Governor James Hogg, who was Texas’ first native-born Governor. They gave birth to three sons and a daughter who went on to become the famous philanthropist Ima Hogg. She never married and lived to be 92 years before she died on a vacation in England while attending the opera.
Ms Ima Hogg was a frequent visitor to her grandfather’s Winnsboro estate and what is now The Little Hogg House, on the property, was initially built by Colonel Stinson as a playroom for his children and was later also used by his grandchildren."
